In an effort to integrate its forensic science disciplines into a single, science-based organization, Harris County’s Institute of Forensic Sciences has announced plans to combine the Harris County Sheriff’s Office’s Regional Firearms Identification Laboratory with the rest of the Institute, which will enable it to provide the Sheriff’s department with improved firearms identification.
