During a special event at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas, 12 Universities received distinguished honors and $1 million in grants from NMSI for meeting required implementation guidelines of the UTeach math and science teaching program. Most notable among these was The University of North Texas, University of Texas at Arlington, and The University of Texas at Dallas, who were early to implement the program.

Proposal for M.D. Program at University of North Texas Still a Long-Shot
University of North Texas’ 3-year-old proposal to institute an M.D. program in its Health Science Center still has a long way to go as it continues to face opposition from key individuals backing the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine (TCOM), as well as parties concerned with the lack of sufficient residency slots in the region.
